Neither the narrator nor the second person thinks the girl knows, I think she does.  She's fully aware of these and just too scared to face the reality because of her insecurity.

（余談）

30代以下の方はご存じないかもしれませんが，昔（固定）電話にはコード（電話線）がついていてそれを外すと電話回線が切れました。回線自体が切れるので当然誰からも電話を受けられなくなりましたが，現在は特定の相手（の番号）だけを「ブロック」できるので同じことをするのも遥かに容易でありましょう。
