Sex On Fire キングス・オブ・レオン (Kings of Leon)

この曲はリリースされたのは2008年ですが，Metrolyricsという海外の歌詞サイトのトップ100に数か月前に再登場しました。内容は推して知るべし的タイトルの曲ですが，この曲の誕生について，SongMeaningsに次のようなコメントが載っています：
「インタヴューでKings of Leonが語ったところによると，曲を制作する方法には，先にメロディーを作り，そこへ後に歌詞を当てはめていくやり方と，その逆のやり方の２つがあるが，この曲の場合は，先に出来たメロディーが良かったので，その上にそれにあった歌詞を乗せていき，それで出来上がったのがこれらしい」

現在はもう10代ではないので，この曲を聴いても別にどうということはないのですが，仮に10代であったらなら，間違いなく色んな意味で「影響」されていたと思います。
The song was originally released in 2008 but resurfaced on the top 100 lyrics on Metrolyrics about a couple of months ago. I guess the song title represents what the song is all about pretty much. About the conception of the song, a comment on SongMeanings says as follows;
"in an interview, kinds of leon actually said that there are two ways to write a song: write the music and fit words to it, or the other way around, that is to say write the words then fit music to it
this song was from the first, they wrote what they thought was great music (which it is), and then fitted words that matched the music, and this is what they came up with."

Now I'm not a teenager anymore and not affected very much by the song.  If I were, however, I surely would be in many ways.

（補足）

タイトルでもう内容は推して知るべしと思われるかもしれませんが，元々のタイトルはSet Us On Fireだったらしく，周囲の人間には到底理解できぬほど，深く恋愛関係に嵌りこみ，周囲から奇異の目で見られるまでになってしまった恋人のことを歌った曲だそうです。通常であればとても乗り越えられぬほどの数々の問題に直面しながら，それでもその関係を続ける恋人達が主人公となっているんだとか。

（余談）

とはいうものの，己に同様の経験がないのは勿論のこと，周囲にもこういう例がないのでもう歌詞を見るだけで「本当かよ」という気持ちになってしまいます。ある意味，昨日取り上げたYou and Iの対極にある曲ですが，己の日常生活とかけ離れているという点ではさほど違わないのかもしれません。

それにしてもこの曲のタイトルを見て，それが青少年に与える「影響」について考えてしまうあたりに大人になったことを実感しました。
