プロでない人間の歌った曲がiTunesストアの1位になることは，普段日常的に起こることではないと思いますが，この曲はまさにそれで，映画The Hunger Games: Mockingjay part 1で主人公を演じている女優のJennifer Lawrenceが歌っています。 映画の中で主人公の父親が娘に歌って聞かせていた曲という設定で，Lordeも，先日取り上げたYellow Flicker Beatのなかでそのことに触れているようです。http://oyogetaiyakukun.blogspot.jp/2014/12/yellow-flicker-beat-lorde.html
I don't think it's very common that a song sung by an amateur singer ranks the top on the iTunes store and this is that kind of song. It's a track from The Hunger Games: Mockingjay part 1 and Jennifer Lawrence playing the heroine in the film is the singer. In the film, this is supposed to be a song which her father would sing to her. （余談）
この曲の歌詞で個人的に最も気になるのが，各連の最後に登場するIn the hanging treeという箇所です。一応「あの木のとこで」と訳していますが，そもそも何故inなのか？ヴィデオを見てもin と確かに歌っているように聞えますし，どの歌詞サイトを見てもそのようになっています。
感覚的にはat ではないかと思われるのですが，仮にそうであった場合には，語り手は木の中（おそらく梢）には入っておらず，その木の生えている場所で相手と会っていることになるような気します。これに対して，in the hanging treeとなると，２人が（縛り首にする）木の梢の中で会っていることになるため，双方亡くなっている可能性が出てきます。
・・・とはいうものの「純国産」の私の言うことなのであまり当てにはなりませんが。
