おわかりかとは思いますが，ここに登場する「幽霊（ghost）」は，ホラー映画に登場するような実際の（←いや意味不明なことはわかっています）「幽霊」ではなく，むしろ「面影」といったようなものです。
As you see, a word 'ghost' here doesn't refer to a real (I know it doesn't make sense at all) ghost such as we see in horror films but something like a shadow.
