 一体誰が電話をかけているのか相手にはわかっていると言う前提で「ああもしもし，俺だよ俺だ」と語りかける主人公ですが，仮に相手にそれがわからず「どちら様ですか？」と聞かれたらどうするのでしょうか？
The narrator says "Hello, it's me" to the second person assuming they know who's calling.  Well maybe they do.  What if they don't and ask them who is the caller?
