最近知り合いで貴重な写真を含むPCのデータのすべてを失ってしまった人がいます。無論当人が最悪に落ち込んでいることはわかりますが，その写真が捉えた瞬間はまだ当人の記憶にあるように思われます。
A person I know recently has lost all of the data on their PC including their precious photos.  I know they're devastated but the moments those photos captured are still have copies in their memory.

（余談）

とりわけ私の場合「永久保存版」と銘打って保存したおいた画像やヴィデオは数多あるものの，文字通り「永久」に「保存」してあるだけでほぼどれも一度も見直していないので仮に今それらが失われてもダメージは少ないように思われますし，さらに言えば失ったことすら気づかない可能性もあります。
