Stay High ヒッピー・サボタージュ (Hippie Sabotage)

歌詞がシンプルなだけに様々な解釈が可能になる曲です。語り手は「そいつがいなくなったから
いつでも楽しい気分でなけりゃ，やっていけなくなったんだ」(You're gone and I got to stay high, All the time)と言っていますが，この時，相手(そいつ)は1) 実際の人間なのか，2) あるいは薬物などの人間以外のものなのかで流れが変わってきます。仮に 1) 人間であるとした場合，何故相手は去ってしまったのか？この場合も，ただの a) 破局である場合と，b )死別である場合で多少事情が異なります。これに対して，You're goneの「そいつ」が，2) 人間以外のものであった場合「今のこの辛い気持ちを，誰かが忘れさせてくれないと」の「誰か」も同様に人間以外であると取ることもできます。
さらに「I got to stay high」の箇所に関してもi) （辛すぎて）薬物やセックスで辛さを忘れていなければならない」と取ることができる一方でii) 今後も強く生きていかなければならない」と前向きに取ることもできます。
The song is quite simple, which allows various interpretations.  "You're gone and I got to stay high, All the time," the narrator says.  Is the second person 1) a real human?  Or 2) they're not and something else such as drugs?  If they are, then why are they gone?  It maybe be because of a) a simple breakup or maybe be b) something more fatal.  If they are not, however, someone in the line "Need someone to numb the pain" could be drugs or sex as well as a human.
Also the "I got to stay high" part could be interpreted in two ways:  i) the narrator has to use some kind of drugs or sex  to ease their pain, ii) the narrator has to be strong and stay positive.

（余談）

本当にいかようにも解釈することができる歌詞です。個人的には薬物についての曲だというのが第一印象でしたが，それはこの曲を聴いて，何故か以前取り上げたWeekndのWicked Games
http://oyogetaiyakukun.blogspot.jp/2012/11/wicked-games-weeknd.html を思い出したことが理由であったかもしれません。

それにしてもこの曲，どちらが「本家」なのでしょうか？
