Better Man ジェイムズ・モリソン (James Morrison)

ご存じのようにJames Morrisonは私の好きなアーティストの筆頭なのですが，この曲に関しては，多少「いかにも」な感じがするため，これまでここ本館では取り上げていません。ほぼ訳し終わっていたこともあったのですが，やや甘過ぎる（＝ロマンティック過ぎる）気がして，そのままお蔵入りになっていました。
ただ私のよく利用するSongMeaningsという歌詞サイトで，この曲には10以上のコメントがついています。驚くほどでもないように思われるかもしれませんが，彼の曲の中にはコメントの全くついていないものもあるので，それを考えるとかなりの数です。そのコメントの大半が（私にはやや甘過ぎると思える）この曲を美しくステキだと評価していますが，私の見たところその大半（あるいは全員）が女性です。仮にこの曲を自分の彼女に歌ってやれるとしたら，すでにその人には「モテる才能」が備わっています。
As you know, James Morrison is definitely a top favorite artist of mine but I have to admit, this song sounds a bit corny.  That's why I haven't posted it here yet.  I tried once and almost finished its translation but found it a bit TOO romantic.
On SongMeanings which is one of my favorite websites where people talk about the meaning of song lyrics, Better Man received more than 10 comments.  You might think it's not very impressive but actually it is considering many other songs of his are without comment.  They favor the lyrics (which I found a bit too romantic) saying it's so beautiful and sweet.  I'm sure most of (or all of ) those who comment there are girls.  If you could sing the song to your girl, you have it you to attract girls.

* タイトルのBetter Manですが，辞書に載っているような一般的な単語ではないと思われます。おそらくgood man （善人・いい人）の比較級であろうと考えられるため「成長して強くなりたい」と訳出しました。

（余談）

昨年の2月に流れで始まってしまった「James Morrison強化月間」は，1年余を経てもまだ継続中です。これだけ長く続いてしまうと，キャンペーンとしてはどうなのかという疑問も生じないではありあませんが，宣伝本部長（←私のことです）たる私がやるという以上，部下（←強いて言うなら妹です）には止められません。

ただこれほど長期にわたりキャンペーンを積極的に展開しているにもかかわらず，肝心の実績が上がっていないため，このままでは宣伝本部長（←私です）の責任問題にも発展しかねません。

しかも，この宣伝本部長（←くどいようですが私です）James Morrison以外にプッシュしているアーティストが，Mat KearneyとBrett Dennenなので，実績が上がらないことにつけてはJames Morrisonに勝るとも劣らないという状況です。

したがって，ここをご覧の皆様，宣伝本部長（←・・・もういいですね，スミマセン）が左遷されぬよう，どのような形でも結構ですので，どうかご支援をお願いいたします。
