この歌詞を書いたはRoland Orzabalは「大した内容はない。ただのお手軽なポップ・ソングの歌詞（It's not really about much. It's just one of those cheap pop lyrics.）」と一蹴しているようですが，個人的には妙に深い内容に思われてなりません。
それはともかく，独身の頃「モテ」を恣にしていた友人曰く，当時自分はいくら食べても太らず「ヤセの大食い」を自認しており，周囲からも羨望のまなざしで見られていたが，驕る平家は久しからず。現在はそのツケを十分過ぎるほど支払っている・・・年を取ると「人は（良くも悪くも）変わる」そうです。
