かつて一度新興宗教に勧誘されそうになったことがあります。彼らの話によればこの世界はすでに崩壊しつつあり生き残る唯一の道は彼らの宗教に入信することなんだとか。最終的に説得は不可能だと悟ったようですが，その際には「どうかご無事で」という捨て台詞を残していきました。
Once a cult member tried to make me join their cult.  They said this world is collapsing and the only way to survive is to worship their leader.  When they learned they would never be successful in persuading me, they told me they hoped I wouldn't be damned soon.

（余談）

リードで述べた内容，まさにこれこそがこの曲にいう「恐怖で人を動かす」ことに他なりません。また選挙である政党の立候補者以外に投票した際，脳裏に「福運が落ちる」「地獄に落ちる」という恐れが浮かんだという元信者の話も聞きます。

そういえばテレビ番組の最後の「このあと番組はまだまだ続きます」というアレも，当初は「（そうだとすれば）ここでチャンネルを変えたらその面白いところを見逃すかもしれない」という視聴者側の恐怖を煽ってそのまま見続けさせようという目論見だったのでしょう。

・・・が，こちらについてはすでに手垢がつきすぎて，逆に「番組終了のフラグ」になっている感が否めないので，かつてのような効果はもはや望めないように思われます。
