具体的な理由がないにもかかわらず，実際は違うことを記憶してしまっていることがあります。例えば，1980年代にあのネルソン・マンデラ氏が亡くなったと信じそう記憶していた人はかなりいましたが，実際に彼が亡くなったのは2013年でした。
Despite of the lack of any specific reason, people sometimes remember things which are not true as true.  For example, in 1980s many people believed and remembered Nelson Mandela was dead.  As you know he actually died in 2013.

（余談）

リードで述べた現象は一般的に「マンデラ効果」と呼ばれており，虚偽記憶（false memory）のひとつです。

有名人の宿命としてしばらく表舞台から離れていると，どこからか「死亡説」が出てしまうものですが，こうやって時々新曲を発表していればその恐れもありません。

以前からもう十分に成功し一生遊んで暮らせるだけのものを稼いでいるにもかかわらず，新曲を発表するアーティストを見るにつけ，その体力と気力に圧倒され，同時にそれほど音楽が好きなのだなと思っていたのですが，ひょっとしたらその背景にはこういう事情もあるのかもしれません。
