Notion ザ・レア・オケージョン (The Rare Occasions)

人間は何かを信じたがるものです。信じる対象は神かもしれませんし，金あるいは愛かもしれません。何故かって？人間は自分のした行動とその結果について責任を負いたくないからです。
We want to believe in something.  It could be God, money or love.  Why?  We don't want to be responsible for every action we make and its consequences.

Back when I was younger, was told by other youngsters
That my end will be torture beneath the earth

I see a window, a limit, to live it, or not at all

そんな風に考えりゃそりゃ確かに落ち着くよ，ずっと続いてるんだって
けどそんなデタラメで安心したかないんだよ
だって「最後」は見てきたけどな，天に昇る瞬間なんてそんなもんはないんだよ

まだ子どもだった頃，他のヤツから言われたよ
お前の最後は最悪で地面の下の地獄へ落ちてそこで拷問されるって
死がそこまで来てる時でも，ヤツらに見えているものがこっちには見えてないけど
生きるか死ぬかのチャンスとか限界なんかは見えてんだ

ちょっとレバーを引くだけで，死なずにずっと生きられるなら
そんな人生意味あるか？
そんな風に考えりゃそりゃ確かに落ち着くよ，ずっと続いてるんだって
けどそれは生きる目的なんかじゃないぞ*

いつも晴れってわけじゃないから，上手く行かないこともあるけど
こんな風にわずかでも希望の光は指してくる
塩漬けを仕込むみたいに，何十年も無駄にして，ひたすら待っていなくても
（天国の）「門」はちゃんと開いてくれるし，何もかもすぐ目の前にあるんだよ
いつも晴れってわけじゃないから
雨や曇りの時もある，上手くいかないこともあるけど
こんな風にわずかでも希望の光は指してくる

海の向こうも行けちゃうぜ
こんな弱い体でも生きてる一瞬一瞬が輝いて見えるから，そこにやけに感謝したくて
お前思っているんだろ？自分は神の下僕だし，大昔の誰かの手紙それを信じていればいいって
そんな風に考えりゃそりゃ確かに落ち着くよ，だけどそれはデタラメなんだ
