思うに我々にとって他人を自分のものさしではからないというのは非常に難しいことなのではないでしょうか？自分のやり方とは違うあるいは単に自分と違っているという理由だけで他人を批判し責めるのは簡単です。またそうすると何かを成し遂げたような気になるので気分もいいのですが，実際には何ひとつ自分のためにはなりません。文句を言うだけで何もせずただ何かすごい事が起こるのを待っているだけです。
I think one of the hardest things for us to do is not judging people by our own standards.  It's so easy to accuse and criticize others of not doing as we do or just being different.  It also feels very accomplishing and therefore very satisfying most of the time but actually it does nothing good for us.  We're just complaining and doing nothing waiting for something miraculous to happen.

（余談）

それぞれが別の個体である以上，相手を完全に理解することなどは当然不可能ですが，それでも「人にはそれぞれ事情がある」ということを頭の片隅に留めておくだけで，世の中の揉め事のかなりの部分が解消あるいは軽減されるように思います。
