You Are So Beautiful ジョー・コッカー (Joe Cocker)

一見したところこの曲は，主人公が12回「本当にステキな人 (You are so beautiful)」と繰り返すだけの極めてシンプルなラヴ・ソングに思えますし，おそらくであると思われるのですが，それならこの曲を名曲たらしめているのは一体何なのでしょうか？メロディーかもしれませんし，歌っているJoe Cockerの声かもしれません，ひょっとするとその両方かもしれませんが，思うに，この曲が他のものと違っているのは，「 本当にステキな人だって俺は思っているんだよ(You are so beautiful TO ME)」という箇所であるような気がします。    
This seems to be a quite simple love song, in which the narrator repeats "You are so beautiful" for 12 times and it's probably so.  What makes it such a great song, then?  Could be the melody, could the voice of Joe Cocker, or could be both.  I think it's these two words that makes a difference: "You are so beautiful TO ME."

「本当にステキな人だって俺は思っているんだよ (You are so beautiful TO ME) 」と無暗に正直なこの主人公。個人的には大変好感が持てますが，ただこのテの曲の場合には，たとえそれがウソだとわかっていても，敢えて「本当にステキな人だ (You are so beautiful)」で止めておくべきではないでしょうか？
