葉の色から大麻の一種と結び付けられることの少なくない「紫の煙（purple haze）」という言葉ですが，ここではその代わりにこの曲に見られるような意味で使われていると思います。
A word purple haze is often associated with strains of cannabis because of the color of their leaves. Here I think it refers to the lavender haze seen in this song instead.
