思うに英語において、この長い距離を歩く能力には、なんらかの比喩的あるいは文化的重要性があるのでしょうか。日本語ならおそらく「私ならその重荷に耐えていける」という表現になると思いますが、この違いはどこから来るんでしょう。
The music is really cool and reminds me of the old Motown sound from the 60s. I heard his mother was a fan of soul music. It makes sense. His distinctive voice goes very well with the music here.
In the lyrics, the narrator says he would "Walk a thousand miles on broken glass." In "One And Only" by Adele I posted the other day, the narrator says, "I am the one who can walk that mile". I wonder if the ability to walk a long distance has some metaphorical and cultural importance in English. In Japanese, we would say, "I am the one who can carry the heavy burden" instead. What makes the difference?
