Silhouettes オブ・モンスターズ・アンド・メン (Of Monsters and Men)

ご覧のように，この曲は2013年11月19日にリリースされた，映画The Hunger Games: Catching Fire – Original Motion Picture Soundtrackに収録されています。歌詞の中には，映画について知っていた方がより響いてくる箇所もあると思いますし，訳文を作るに場合も大変役に立つと思うのですが，なにしろその映画自体がまだこちらで公開されていません。

したがって，現在のところは自分の想像力を使って和訳するより他ないのですが，この想像力というものは往々にして全くあさっての方向へ向かってしまいます。今回はそういうことが起こってなにもかも台無しにならないよう祈るばかりです。

As you see, this is from The Hunger Games: Catching Fire – Original Motion Picture Soundtrack released on November 19, 2013.  I know some part of the lyrics would speak to us much more eloquently with some knowledge about the film.  That would greatly help me in translating the lyrics into Japanese but it's not released here yet.  All I have right now is my imagination but I know too well it often leads us to a completely wrong direction. I hope it didn't do that and mess things up this time.

（余談）

リード文ではああ言ったものの，実は映画の内容とはあまり関係がないようで，この曲を書いたOf Monsters and Menによれば，この曲のテーマは「元いた場所から移動すること(displacement)」とのこと。

バンドのRagnar þórhallssonがMTV Newsに語ったところによると「長期間にわたって旅に出ていて，家族と離れ離れになり，それまでやったことのないことをした。そういうところでこの物語に共感した。だからこの曲は自分たちの経験が元になってる」とか。

また，映画の特定のシーンを下敷きにするのではなく，このシリーズ2作目のこの作品の全体を流れるものを描き出そうとしていて，その方が「原作を徹底的に研究して，あるシーンの曲にするよりも力強い」と考えているらしい。それで物語全体に流れる雰囲気を表す曲にしたそうです。
