Blaze コルビー・キャレイ (Colbie Caillat)

曲は明るく，下のリリック・ヴィデオも楽しげですが，最初にこの曲を聞いた時，なんとなく主人公が追い詰められている感じがしました。Colbie Cailletが10代や20代前半であったなら，この曲もよくある能天気な曲だと思ったかもしれませんが，彼女はそれほど若くありません。ただの偏見であることはわかっていますが，私には主人公は30代後半で残りの人生を一人で（あるいは猫と）生きていくことに大変不安を感じているように思えます。ひょっとすると正社員ではなく派遣で，仕事を失うのを非常に恐れているのかもしれません。この曲を聞いて，独身でいることの不安を訴えていた昔の知り合いのことを思い出しました。
The song sounds upbeat and fun and the lyric video below supports it but what came to me when I first heard the song was that the protagonist was a bit desperate.  If Colbie Caillat were in her teens or early 20s, I would have taken it as just another happy song but she's not that young.  I know it's just my prejudice but to me the protagonist seems to be in her late 30s and so scared of living alone (or probably with cats) for the rest of her life.  The song reminds me of a person I once knew who expressed her anxiety and insecurity of being single.

リード文ではああ言ったものの，大変楽しそうですし，当のColbie Caillatも「友だちと一緒の時に大騒ぎするの。普通あんまりなことはしないんだけど，どうやったら楽しくなれるかはわかってるから，テーブルの上でダンスしちゃったりすることもある。これはそういう時の曲」と語っているので，本当にただのパーティ・ソングなのかもしれません。
