(Kissed You) Goodnight グロリアーナ (Gloriana)

この曲のこともアーティストのGlorianaのことも知りませんでしたが，Songfacts.comのDaily Top 10 lyricsでこの曲に出会いました。Gloriana曰く，この曲はコーラスのリズムをColdplayのClocksっぽい「タダラダ，タダラダ」という感じにしたんだとか。
I've never heard of this song or Gloriana before. Daily Top 10 lyrics on Songfacts.com brought me to this song.  As for chorus, Gloriana explains they gave "Coldplay feel" to it, like their "Clocks" saying "If you think about it and hear that beat, that tadarada-tadarada– it’s got that same rhythmic feel to it.  rhythmic pattern of it."

Glorianaは歌詞に関して「この曲はすごい。だって男性でも女性でも，誰でも一度くらいはこういう状況になったことがあるはず。男性の方は最初に打って出る勇気が出ず，女性の方はさっさと行動に出てよと思ってる。自分でも経験がある・・・間違いない (Because everyone’s been in that situation – whether you’re a guy or a girl. The guy’s scared to make the first move, and the girl’s like “just make a move already!” I’ve definitely been in that position … for sure!)」と語っています。

この曲はレストランでGlorianaのTom Gossinの隣の席にいた女性グループの会話が発端だったそうで，グループの1人がデートは楽しかったのに相手が別れ際に自分にキスしなかったとボヤいているの聞いてヒントを得たのだとか。

とはいうものの，今回この曲を取り上げようと思ったのは，そのロマンティックな歌詞に感動したからではなく，実は「I should have pushed you up against the wall」の箇所を見た瞬間に「これって去年イヤになるほど耳にしたあの壁ドンのことだよね？」と思ったというただそれだけの理由ですが。
