この曲はカヴァーでLinda Ronstadtのオリジナルではありません。Wikipediaには「You're No Goodは，Clint Ballard, Jr.が作曲し，最初にDee Dee Warwickが1963年にJubilee Recordsから出した曲でありJerry Leiber and Mike Stollerがプロデューサーである」と書かれています。
この曲，何気なく見ていると，大したことのないヤツだと主人公が相手に言っているよくある破局ソングなのですが，実際には三角関係を歌った曲で，つまらない相手に夢中になる余り，誠実な元彼を裏切ってしまった主人公が，元彼に詫びるとともに，相手に対して，お前はクズだという内容です。

 At a casual glance, this song seems to be another breakup song in which the narrator's telling the second person they don't deserve her.  It's, however, actually about a love triangle: The narrator fell for the second person and that made her ex. leave her.  Now she's apologizing her ex. and telling the second person he's no good
