OK, It's Alright With Me エリック・ハッチンソン (Eric Hutchinson)

Eric HutchinsonのWatching You Watch Himを取り上げた際，そのリリック・ヴィデオに感動したものの，今回彼の声をすっかり忘れてしまっていたので，そういう意味で言えば，そのヴィデオのインパクトが強すぎたのかもしれません。本来なら彼の声にもっと注目すべきだったのに，ヴィデオの方にばかり目が行ったのかもしれません。
When I posted Eric Hutchinson's Watching You Watch Him, I was quite impressed with the lyric video.  Too impressed maybe because I don't recognize his voice when I heard this song.  I think I should have paid much attention to his voice back then but I focused too much on the video itself instead.

（余談）

バーナデット(Bernadette)という名前が登場するので，最初歌詞を読んだ時は，相手の彼女に裏切られている（＝浮気されている）ことに気が付きつつも，そんなのは大したことじゃないと主人公が強がる曲のような気がしたのですが，実際にはEric Hutchinsonは自分を励ますつもりでこの曲を書いたようです。

そもそも2003年に出した自主制作アルバムが目に留まり，2005年にMarverick Recordsと契約したEric Hutchinsonですが，不幸なことにその後このレイベルが立ち行かなくなったため，この曲を書いた当時，Eric Hutchinsonは実家に住みながら今後の身の振り方に悩んでいたそうで，ともすれば落ち込みそうになる自分自身に対して「いいか，大変なことはどうやったって起こるものだけど，いつかはどうにかなる」と言い聞かせていたんだとか。

どんな人にも苦労はあるんですね。
