Elephant テイム・インパーラ (Tame Impala)

この曲に政治的な意味はないとわかっているものの個人的にはそう思えて仕方ありません。特に「首根っこを掴まれて，泣きながらあいつは帰っていったのに，後で戻って来た時にゃ，誰もそんなの覚えちゃいない，そんな風にいつまでも同じことの繰り返し (Somebody grabbed his collar, He cried the whole way home, Nobody remembered a thing when they saw him again, That’s how it is 'til the end)」がそれで，収賄などの理由で警察がある政治家を逮捕しているイメージが浮かび上がってきます。日本には「人の噂も75日」ということわざがありますが，英語では「びっくりするようなことは9日しか続かない (A wonder lasts but nine days.)」と言うようです。
I know this is no political song but to me it sounds as such.  Especially lines "Somebody grabbed his collar, He cried the whole way home, Nobody remembered a thing when they saw him again, That’s how it is 'til the end".  It conjures up images like the police arrest a politician for their wrongdoing, such as taking a bribe from someone.  Anyway, while we Japanese have a proverb "Gossip lasts only for 75 days,"  the English counterpart is "A wonder lasts but nine days."

そんな風にいつまでも同じことの繰り返し
