Get Together ヤングブラッズ (Youngbloods)

この曲は元々The Kingston TrioというバンドがLet’s Get togetherというタイトルで発表した曲ですが，有名なのはこちらのヴァージョンです。希望に溢れた大変前向きな曲ですが，これが当時の曲の特徴です。
ところで「一緒になる（get together）」の同義語には，「集る (gather)」「参加する (join)」 and「団結する  (unite)」などがありますが，最後の「unite」には「結婚する」という意味もあります。日本語でも結婚することを「一緒になる」と言ったりするので，この辺りは万国共通ですね。
This song was originally recorded by The Kingston Trio as “Let’s Get together” and widely known by this version.  It's a very uplifting song with full of hope, which was quite typical in that era.  
Anyway, synonyms for "get together" include gather, join and unite.  The last one also means "to join (a couple) in marriage."  There must be something universal here.

（余談）

この曲，曲調が60年代なのは勿論のこと，Youngbloodsというバンド名も今ならあまり考えられない気がします。なにしろ「若い血」です。吸血鬼じゃないんですから。
