傷ついているので立ち直らせてくれと，主人公が繰り返し助けを求めて来るので，歌詞を見ていると，この曲が出来た背景として，書いた人間がさぞかし辛い思いをしたに違いないとなんとなく考えてしまいますが，実際には違います。る主人公ですが，Robin Gibbによると，この曲はさしてなんの苦労もせず，ほんの1時間ほどで出来たそうです。
The narrator keeps telling us he's a broken man and asks to help him overcome his sorrow.  Looking at the lyrics, you may think the writer(s) of this song must have been through hard times when they came up with the concept of the song somehow.  Actually they didn't. Robin Gibb claims they wrote it in about an hour and without struggle or hardship.
