"What the world needs now is love," says the narrator. Is it true? What's the definition of love here in the first place? Is it a romantic love or more philanthropic kind? Could it be something more sexually charged one or just a paraphrase of "being enthusiastic about"? If they refer to all of these as 'love', I don't think "there's just too little of. We have plenty of them.

別に「愛」に限ったことではありませんが，たとえどんなものでも多すぎるとロクなことはありません。「時間」にしても「小人閑居して不善をなす」と言いますし，「富」や「名声」にしても，世の要人・有名人を見ている限り，あり過ぎるとロクなことはないような気がします。
・・・が，前述のどれひとつとして満足にない私が言っても，甚だ説得力に欠けることは間違いありません。
