2000 Miles ザ・プリテンダーズ (The Pretenders)

最初は他のクリスマス・ソングのように歌詞に登場する「あの人」は主人公の大切な人だと思っていたのですが，この曲は自殺したバンド仲間のJames Honeyman-Scottについて書かれた曲のようです。
At first I thought 'He' represented the person the narrator loves very much like many other Christmas song.  It turned out this song was about James Honeyman-Scott, their band mate who killed himself.

（余談）

この曲の歌詞を見た時，最初に「あの人」は主人公の家族や友人・恋人などだと思った後に「あの人」はサンタクロースなのではないかと考えました。2000マイルは3200kmほどですから，ロンドンを起点とすればアイスランドのレイキャビクの北辺りならピッタリですが，実際にはもっと切ない曲でした。
