名曲といわれるものにはよくあることですがこの曲は聞いたことがあります。タイトルも歌っている人もわからないまま聞いている曲がこの世の中には一体いくつくらいあるのでしょうか？

「my arms long to hold you so」の下りの「long (to)」は「切望する・待ち焦がれる」という動詞であって「長い」という意味の形容詞ではありません。 決して「ゴムゴムの実」を食べたわけではないと思われます。
