家を建てる場合に一番費用のかかるところはどこだとお考えでしょうか？主人公が「骨組みと同じで元のとこさえしっかりしてりゃ，それ以外はどうでもいいの」と言っているので骨組み(framing)がそうだとお考えかもしれません。確かに手頃な建売住宅の場合には，骨組みが家全体で一番費用を食うところですが，これが大邸宅のような豪華な住宅の場合は話が違います。こういった家でも骨組みにかかる費用はあまり変わりませんが，その代わりに内装や外装にかかる費用が急激に増えます。
What do you think is the most expensive parts of building a house?  The narrator says, "when the bones are good, the rest don't matter" and you may think it's framing.  In case of less expensive houses, it costs about 20 percent of the entire building cost.  In case of much expensive houses like a mansion, the cost for framing doesn't change a lot but the bill of the finishes and fixtures shot up tremendously.

（余談）

「割れ目なんかできないで，土台のとこさえちゃんとしてれば，ベイビイちょうど嵐みたいに，二人に何が起こっても，そのままじっと耐えてれば，みんなそのうち過ぎてくの」という主人公ですが，とはいうもののかの地のハリケーンやトルネード被害を報道する映像には土台以外は根こそぎもっていかれている家がいくつも登場し，見るたびに「そもそもそこに家を建てていいのか？」という疑問が常に浮かんでしまいます。

この主人公もまず「その相手で本当にいいのか」を考えた方がいいのではないでしょうか？
