主人公は相手に「お前の人生を俺の人生に入れてくれ（put their (=second person's) world in theirs (=narrator's)）」と求めていますが必ずしもそのやり方でなければならないわけではありません。
The narrator is asking the second person to 'put their (=second person's) world in theirs (=narrator's)'.  It's not the only way to make things work.
