Perfect Situation ウィーザー (Weezer)

SongMeanings.netにコメントを寄せた人によると「この曲は（自分みたいに）女の子が気になっていて，相手も同じ気持ちだとわかっているのに（自分もそうだけど）行動を起こせず，逆に怖じ気づいて何もできないまま，後で後悔するヤツのことを明らかに歌ってる」んだとか。
ところで，以下のミュージック・ヴィデオですが，歌詞の内容を忠実に再現していると思えるかもしれませんが，実はそうとも言い切れません。他のアーティストのそれとは異なり，彼ら（Weezer）のそれは歌詞と無関係な場合が少なくないそうです。
Someone who posted a comment on SongMeanings.net says, "This song is obviously about a guy (like me) who likes a girl and is sure that the girl likes him back however (like me) he instead of making a move gets scared and chooses to do nothing and is sad about it later that night."
By the way, you may think the music video below has to be direct interpretations of the song.  No, it's not necessarily.  Unlike music videos of other artists, theirs are often said to have nothing to do with the song lyrics.

この曲については，真偽のほどは定かではありませんが，Rivers Cuomoが純潔の誓いを立てた時の状況を歌ったものだという説もあります。（ただ個人的にはあまり信じていません）。
