ところで，タイトルがLet で始まる曲というのはさほど珍しくありません。これまで取り上げた曲の中で言えば，Avril LavigneのLet Her Go，PassengerのLet Her Go，ParamoreのLet The Flames Begin，Ne-YoのLet Me Love You，そしてEd SheeranのLet It Outなどがありますし，まだこちらで取り上げていない「別の曲」を思い出す方もおいでになるかもしれません。そうです「When I find myself in times of trouble, Mother Mary comes to me...」という歌い出しで始まる「あの曲」です。

Anyway, a song title beginning with 'Let' is not very rare. Among those I translated before, I can find "Let It Go (Avril Lavigne), "Let Her Go" (Passenger), Let The Flames Begin (Paramore), Let Me Love You (Ne-Yo) and Let It Out (Ed Sheeran). （余談）
この曲は元彼女との思い出を歌った曲なのだそうですが，ただこういうケース，意外によくあるような気がします。とりわけお互いが相手に「自分の求める姿」を反映させて好きになっているケースに多いのではないでしょうか？
この曲，最初にLykke Liが歌う箇所は「Don't you let me go, let me go tonight」とDon'tがあるのですが，次に登場する箇所にはそれがないため，意味は正反対になります。最初のDon'tがかすかにしか聞こえないため，同じフレーズを歌っているように聞えますが，後の箇所にDon'tがないことを考えると，ここは主人公のセリフであると思われます。
それにしても，この主人公，このままガマンできるんでしょうか・・・。あれこれ言っていますが，結局「負けて」しまいそうな気がして仕方がありません。
