人生のワクワク感を，探しながら生きている (We are always running for the thrill of it)」から始まって「こうして開けてるんだから (in whats in front of me)」で終わる箇所のメロディーを以前どこかで聞いていると思えたからです。聞いたことのある曲に似ていることはわかっていたのですがそれがどの曲なのかがわからず，丸一日悩んだ挙句，このブログ全体を検索してようやくその曲を見つけました。Ben FoldのNot The Sameでした。
One thing came in the back of my mind since I heard this song. I knew I had heard the melody in the lines starting with "We are always running for the thrill of it," and ends with "in whats in front of me" somewhere before. It surely reminded me of a song that I knew but I couldn't find out which. Being bothered by it the whole day, I decided to go over my entire blog and finally found the song. It's Ben Fold's Not The Same.

（余談）
広く恋愛の高揚感を歌ったと解釈されているこの曲ですが，この歌詞に登場するitやこの曲自体が一体何を意味するのかについて，当のEmpire of The SunのLuke Steeleは，具体的にしてしまうとこの曲の良さが損なわれるとして詳細には語ってくれていません。
ただ「これって夢じゃないのかな？2人がひとつになるなんて，なんとなくわかるんだ，気持ちが通じあってる時は (Is it real now, When two people become one, I can feel it, When two people become one)」の箇所に登場する「2人」は彼Luke SteeleとNick Littlemoreのことであり，彼らが再会したことを指しているらしいので，どうやらロマンティックな文脈ではないようです。
この曲のリリースは2008年ですが，今年ホンダのシビックのコマーシャルに使われたことで再び注目を浴びているようです。
