パーティ好きな人間に言わせると，パーティは知り合いを作るのに一番いい場所だそうで，多分そうなのでしょうが，そういった人間は既にどれほど知り合いがいても，招待されれば必ず出席します。一方私は友達が少ないのにそこまで熱心になれません。
Some people love parties.  They say it's the best place to make friends and probably so.  They never miss a party they're invited no matter how many friends they already have.  I don't have many friends but cannot be that enthusiastic.

（余談）

子ども時代から「浮いている」ことにかけては人後に落ちない私なので，パーティが苦手という主人公の気持ちが大変よくわかります。
