この曲の邦題は「スカボローフェア」となっていますが，実際には北米英語では「スカーバラウ (skɑːrbərəʊ)」英語では「スカーバラ (skɑːbrə)」という発音です。
Although the Japanese title for this song sounds like "sukaborohfeah" it's actually "skɑːrbərəʊ" in the US and "skɑːbrə" in UK.

戦争の悲惨さを歌った切なく美しく悲しいこの曲ですが，およそ日本人でこの曲を知らない人間はほとんどあるまいというほど有名な曲なので，歌詞の意味するところについては既に多くのサイトで詳細な解説がなされています。

・・・ですが先日「スカボロー」ではなく本当は「スカーバラ」だと気づき，九州出身で周囲から（親しみを込めて）「バルサン」と呼ばれていた知り合いの「前原（まえばる）」さんのことを思い出しこの曲を取り上げました。
