それまで誰もやったことのない分野に挑戦して，後に続く者のために道を付けるパイオニアを私は大変尊敬しています。この曲は，アフリカ系アメリカ人で最初の最高裁判事となったThurgood Marshallの人生を描いた伝記的映画「Marshall」 のために作られており，2018年度のアカデミー賞で歌曲賞にノミネートされています。 
I have immense respect for pioneers who cut through an unknown field where nobody's has ever stepped into and pave the way for their followers.  This song is written for "Marshall" a biographical film depicting the life of Thurgood Marshall who became the future first African-American Supreme Court Justice.  It's nominated for Best Original Song in Academy Award 2018.

（余談）

この映画と直接つながるわけではありませんが，60年代の公民権運動の時代に，デパートのレストランで差別（白人専用・黒人専用）に抗議してNorth CarolinaのGreensboroから始まった運動が「sit-in（座り込み）movement」でした。

立ち上がっては座り込み，また立ち上がって座りこむ。大腿四頭筋，ハムストリングス，そして大腰筋が鍛えられそうです。
