タイトルの「off the wall」は「普通ではない」「破天荒」「風変わりな」などを意味するイディオムですが，元々どこからこの表現が生まれたかを正確に知っている人はいないようです。
The title, "off the wall" is an idiomatic expression meaning "wild, crazy and eccentric".  Nobody is absolutely sure about the origin of the expression.

（余談）

「壁を離れる」ことが「風変わり」で「破天荒」と言う意味だとすれば，この表現の元は「壁についていることがデフォルト」である何かであるということになりますが，そう言われても個人的に「ヤモリ」以外思いつきません。
