「何を聞いたかわからないけど（I don't know what you've been told）」という主人公ですが，実際には相手が聞かされた内容も，それが結構当たっていることも認識しているはずです。
"I don't know what you've been told", says the narrator.  I think they DO know what the second person has been told and feel it's pretty true.

（余談）

人間は時間がない（例えば「期間限定」「このコマーシャルの後30分間に限り」）のですぐ決めろと言われると焦ってなかなか正しい決断ができません。「時間はどんどん過ぎていくから，今この瞬間大切にして，無駄にするのは止めようぜ」という主人公の言葉に惑わされないよう相手に強く勧めたいところです。
