Various artists such as Jeff Buckley and Bob Dylan have covered this song. This is a take by Oscar Issac and Marcus Mumford (Mumford & Sons). An ethnomusicologist John Lomax in 1909 first presented this song to the world after hearing it sung by an African American woman called Dink. That's why It's better known as "Dink's Song" there.
Fare Thee Well (Oscar Isaac)
Fare thee well my honey fare thee well
Well I had a man who was long and tall
Who moved his body like a cannon ball
Fare thee well my honey fare thee well
I remember one evening in the pouring rain
In my heart was an aching pain
Fare thee well my honey fare thee well
Bloody river was muddy and wild
Can't give a bloody for my unborn child
Fare thee well my honey fare thee well
Sure as a bird flying high above
Life ain't worth living without the one you love
Fare thee well my honey fare thee well
Fare thee well my honey fare thee well
(ノアの)方舟から飛び立った
アタシにも相手がいたの
ブラッド・リバーも荒れていて
大空高く飛んでいる
どうか元気にしていてよ
