You Light Up My Life デビー・ブーン (Debbie Boone)

Listening to this song, I realized that songs which sound '70 often use strings heavily just like those in 1980s often use synth heavy sound instead.  As you know, English pronoun for the second person or 'you' is gender-free and represent both singular and plural nouns as well.  Thanks to it, the second person could be anything here.  It could be the person the narrator loves, family, friends or simply God.  It also represents something inanimate like music.
You Light Up My Life  (Debbie Boone)

[Verse 1]
So many nights
I'd sit by my window
Waiting for someone
To sing me his song

So many dreams
I've kept deep inside me
Alone in the dark
But now you've come along

[Chorus]
And you
Light up my life
You give me hope
To carry on
You light up my days
And fill my nights
With song

[Verse 2]
Rolling at sea
Adrift on the waters
Could it be finally
I'm turning for home?
Finally, a chance
To say, "Hey, I love you,"
Never again
To be all alone

[Chorus] x2

[Outro]
It can't be wrong
When it feels so right
'Cause you
You light up my life

[Verse 1]

[Chorus]

[Chorus] x2

[Outro]
