明るいメロディですが歌詞の内容はかなり暗めです。ただ字義通りに受け取らないでください。メタファーだと思いますしそうであるはずです。
それはともかく，今までにいくつかメロディーと歌詞にギャップのある曲をここで取り上げています。例としてはFoster The PeopleのPumped Up Kicks，GrimesのOblivionそしてOf Monsters and MenのLittle Talksなどがありますが，これらに共通するのが，明るい曲調に暗い歌詞という点でしょう。逆に曲調は禍々しいもののメッセージは肯定的という別の種類のものも存在しますが，その一例が Dark Tranquility's Fatalistでしょう。
The melody is upbeat but the lyrics are pretty gloomy.  Don't take them literally, though.  I believe it's a metaphor and it should be.
Anyway, I've picked up some songs whose melody contradicts the lyrics.  These include songs like Foster The People's Pumped Up Kicks. Grimes' Oblivion and Little Talks by Of Monsters and Men.  What these songs have in common is that the melody is upbeat but the lyrics are not.  On the other hand, there's another kind of songs whose ominous melody betrays its positive lyrics.  One of them is Dark Tranquility's Fatalist.

Morrisseyといえば以前Everyday Is Like Sundayという曲を取り上げたことがあって，その時から一筋縄ではいかないアーティストだとは思っていましたが，今回のその感を一層強くしました。

とにかくこの歌詞，その気になればいかようにも取れます。字義通り捉えて彼女の別れを綴ったものから，ドラッグの体験を歌ったもの，あるいは解釈の極北とも言えるcomaをエクスタシーとするエロ系のものまで，ヴァリエーションには限りがありません。
