自分自身でさえ自分のことを完全に理解することは容易ではないのにいわんや他人をしてをや。

１０年ほど前ちょうどこのブログを始めた頃は，Miley Cyrusというと「お騒がせ」という言葉が枕詞につくような状態で，授賞式でのエロいダンスに全裸のMVと，見ているこちら側がハラハラするほどでした。

当然周囲から激しい批判を受けていましたし，正直なところ私自身も最初は「なんなんだ？コイツは」と思っていたのですが，厳しすぎる世間の風当たりに加え「私は仕事をしてるだけ」と語っていた彼女の言葉を知って，彼女への見方が変わったことを覚えています。

自分とは違う世界を見てそこに住んでいる人間を批判することは難しくありません。そもそも戦争はそうやって起こります。

「まだコドモだった」とこの曲で語っている彼女は「私なら決してコドモを批判しない」とインタヴューで語っているそうです。誰にでもバカなコドモだった頃があったはず。そのことを忘れてはいけないとこの曲は教えてくれているような気がします。

タイトルは互いにかなり異なった２つのことを意味していると思います。ひとつは主人公が自分のベッドにひとりぼっちで寝ているという孤独ですがもうひとつは自立です。主人公には自分だけのベッドがあり誰にも邪魔されません。
The song title can imply two things which are quite different from each other.  One of them is loneliness that the narrator is sleeping alone in their own bed without anyone.  The other is independence.  They have their own bed and nobody disturbs them.
