Aviciiがクリスチャンかどうかはわかりませんし，キリスト教の教えでは，天国での幸せを手に入れられない人がいるそうですが，彼が世の中に与えてくれたものを考えれば，彼は今天国にいるような気がします。
I don't know if Avicii is a christian.  In the Christian faith, it's believed that some people are denied the pleasures of Heaven.  Considering what he's given to the world, however, I personally believe he's in Heaven now.

死んでしまうとほとんどの人が「仏」になり，彼岸へパスポートやビザなしで渡航できる仏教とは異なり，キリスト教の世界では，ビザの発給手続きも一筋縄ではいかないようで，中世に教会という代行業者が「免罪符」なる万能パスポートを発行して大儲けできたのもそういう背景事情があってのことだと思われます。

「悪銭身につかず (Easy come, easy go)」と，金銭について使われることの多い表現ですが，人間関係についても同様であると思われます。例えば，誰かに好意を寄せられたものの，自分はその相手にさほど思い入れがなく大して好きでもない場合には，ほどなくしげ相手が離れていきます。
"Easy come, easy go" they say.  It often goes with money but I think it's also true with human relationships.  When someone falls for you but you're not into them and don't care for them very much, soon they'd leave you.

世の中には「イケア効果」なるものがあるらしく，少しでも手をかけたものの方に愛着がわくのだとか。だとすれば，苦労して実った恋の方がそうでないものよりも長続きするのかもしれません。

歌詞に登場する相手(YOU)は一体誰なのでしょうか？下のミュージック・ヴィデオを見ながら，私はそれが主人公自身であると考えていました。おそらく主人公の心の中で響いている「自分に正直になれ」という心の声でしょう。それはともかく，このミュージック・ヴィデオを見て，すぐにJohn NewmanのLove Me Againのヴィデオを思い出しました。その理由はヴィデオをご覧になればわかります。
Who's the second person in this song?  Watching the music video below, I was thinking it's the narrator (a girl in the video) themselves.  Maybe it's a voice resonating inside her telling to be true to herself.  Anyway, this video instantly reminded me of that of John Newman's Love Me Again.  Just watch them, then you'll see what I mean.

下のミュージック・ヴィデオを見ると，主人公が子供時代を回想するHey Brotherのそれを思い出します。そのヴィデオには少年が一人登場し，主人公の兄弟か年上の友達のように振る舞います。最初はそれが一体誰なのかわかりませんが，次第にそれが主人公の父親であることがわかってきます。
The music video below reminds me of one for Hey Brother in which the protagonist reminisces his younger days.  In the video, a young boy appears and acts as if he's a brother or an older friend of him.  We don't know who the kid represents in the beginning but it gradually becomes clear to us that he's father of the protagonist.

ミュージック・ヴィデオにアーティストが登場するのはよくあることですが，ただ曲を演奏しているだけのアーティストが多い中，Adam LevineやEd Sheeranといったアーティストはそのヴィデオの役を楽しんで演じています。 ただAviciiはそのどちらにも当てはまりません。 
It's pretty common for artists to appear in their music videos.  While many of them just play their songs, some artists like Adam Levine and Ed Sheeran seem to enjoy playing their role in the video.  Avicii is neither of those.

非常に訳しにくい歌詞で，とりわけコーラスの「You be love」は「you are love」なのか「you'd be love」なのか，あるいは「you can be love」なのかが明らかではなかったものの，第一連や第二連を見る限り，おそらく最後の「you can be love」であると思われるため，ご覧のように訳しています。

また「gravity（重力） - fall（落ちる・好きになる）」や「edge（崖・崖っぷち） - take the next step（一歩を踏み出す・次の段階に行く）」などの掛詞と思えるものもあり，それを訳出するのが大変でした。

それはともかく，Avicii（アヴィーチー）なら「いつもより余計に（ディスクを）回して」いてもいいはずなんですけどねえ。

Without You アヴィーチー (Avicii ft. Sandro Cavazza)

論理的に言えば，タイトルの「Without You」は二通りに取ることができます。ひとつは「（相手が）いないと生きていけない」そしてもう一つは「（相手が）いなくて小鳥のように自由で幸せ」ですが，このタイトルの曲の大半はなぜか前者です。
その理由を考えるに，後者の曲であれば，主人公の関心が（別れた後の）新しい環境に移り，別れた相手のことをあまり思い出さなくなってしまっているため，タイトルもその新しい生活を表すものになっているからだと思います。
Logically, the title "Without You" can be taken both ways such as I can't live WITHOUT YOU and I'm happy and free as a bird WITHOUT YOU.  Most songs of this title belong to the former somehow.
I think in songs of the second category, the narrator would focus much on their new environment and talk about it not missing the second person very much.  In this case, the title would be something describing their new life.

極端に母集団が少ない私が言うと，説得力が圧倒的に少ないのですが，こういう「破局後の辛さ」というものも，ある意味恋愛それ自体の値打ちのひとつなのではないでしょうか？

例えば，グレープフルーツの苦みのようなものです。グレープフルーツはあの苦味があってこそのグレープフルーツであり，それがなければグレープフルーツとして成立しません。

このミュージック・ヴィデオには見覚えが・・・。こういうのを以前見たはずです。5年以上前に取り上げたDavid GuettaとChris WillisのLove Is Goneも確かに似ているのですが，ここで語っているのはもっと最近のもので彼の曲ではありません。確か以前に取り上げたと思うのですが・・・。

（余談）

このヴィデオの雰囲気から考えてEDMの曲に違いないと思い「エレクトロニック」「ダンス」などのラベルで検索するものの見つからず，最終的にGoogle先生にお願いして，ようやくそれが判明しました。コチラでした。

それはともかく，この曲には「ft.」の文字がなかったため，最初はあのAvicii自身が歌っているのかと思いました。彼は一体どういう声をしているのかと期待しながら聞いていたのですが，いつまで経っても彼の声らしきものは聞こえて来ず，訝しく思っていたところ，「サンプリングのみで歌詞がない」ということが判明しました。道理でね・・・・。

それはともかく，このヴィデオで表現しているのはギリシャ神話の「シーシュポスの岩」で，仮にこれを日本でやるとしたら「賽の河原」となるような気がしますが，その場合なかなかそれに合わせてダンスはしにくいと思われます。

リミックスには発表当時さほど話題にならなかった原曲を世に知らしめるという役割があるように思います。私の場合，原曲が誰かの死を悼んでいるように思える一方，リミックスの方は（何故か）破局ソングに聞こえます。
I think a great remix often serves as a tool to bring the original song which was little known to the world when they're released to a wider audience.  While the narrator in the original by Antony and The Johnsons sounds like mourning someone , the remix by Avicii somehow sounds more like a breakup song to me.

（余談）

この原曲，タイトルを見た時に連想したのは「千の風になって」でしたが，実際に聞き始めて感じたのは「もののけ姫」でした。

Addicted To You，Dear Boy，Hey Brother，The Days，The NightsそしてWake Me Upの6曲を訳して気付いたのですが，これらの曲の多くに共通するものがあります：愛着や絆(bond）です。Hey BrotherやThe Nightsは兄弟のような関係を，そしてThe DaysやDear Boyは古い友人との間に芽生えた恋愛感情を扱っています。
果たしてこの曲がこのカテゴリに入るかどうかはわかりません。ただ（この曲を含め）こういった曲に共通するのは，なんとなく「前向きになれる」という点でしょう。
Translating six of his songs such as Addicted To You, Dear Boy, Hey Brother, The Days, The Nights and Wake Me Up, I realized that many of them have one thing in common: BOND.  As the title shows you,  Hey Brother and The Nights are about a brotherly relationship,  and Dear Boy and The Days are about a friendly relationship turned into something romantic between old friends.

この曲を歌っているSimon Aldredですが，当初はクレジットがなかったため，John Legendではというウワサもあったとか。

それにしても，あらすじだけで怖じ気づいてしまい，結局「フランダースの犬」を一度も見られなかった私にとって，このヴィデオは「反則」以外の何物でもありません。まあハッピー・エンドだから許しますが。

The Nights アヴィーチー (Avicii)

サッカーのシミュレーション・ゲームであるFIFA 15のサウンド・トラックの最初に入っている曲です。AviciiのThe Daysは復活愛を描いたものでしたが，こちらThe Nightsは，人生を思う存分生きるというということがテーマのようです。
まさに私が14歳の頃に考えていたことなのですが，ただ多少明後日の方向へ行っていたことは否めません。自分のやりたいことをやるということは，必ずしも勉強をおろそかにするということではないので，当然のことながら，悲惨な結果になりました。あの「思い出は色褪せず，ずっと消えずに残」っているのですが，できれば消えてもらいたいところです。
This song is the first track from FIFA 15, an association football simulation video game released last autumn.  While Avicii's The Days was about love re-ignited, this song The Nights is about living our lives to the fullest.
That's exactly what I did when I was 14 but in a wrong way.  Doing whatever you like doesn't necessarily mean that you should study less or never.  The result was disastrous, of course.  These are "memories we knew would never fade." I wish they did, though.

私だけなのかもしれませんが，英語圏のドラマや映画を観ていると，日本のそれに比べ父子の関係が強調されているように思います。日本の音楽に詳しくないので断言はできませんが，こういう曲は日本では少ないのではないでしょうか？

AviciiがBillboardに語ったところによると，デヴュー・アルバムのTrueでは，これまでの作品からは距離を置き，フォークよりもロック寄りに向かうんだとか。曰く「Wake Me Up!やフォーク系のものから離れ，成長期に影響を受けたTotoやQueenなどのバンドの方向を探っていく」らしく「そこに制約はない」と語っているようです。楽しみです。

この曲で描かれているのはいわゆる「復活愛」というヤツでしょうか？主人公と相手は，一度なんらかの原因で別れたもののまた縒りが戻ったようですが，果たしてこういう場合，上手くいく確率は一体どれくらいなのでしょうか？なにしろゼロとは言いませんが，私の場合，母集団が決して大きくはない上にこういった経験もないので全く想像がつきません。どなたか「腕に覚え」のある方に是非その点を伺ってみたい昨今です。

it's so shallow in the blue...あくまで個人的な意見ですが「海 (the blue)」と「憂鬱 (blue)」を掛けていると思われます。海であればこそ次のshallow（浅い）と繋がりますし，曲全体の流れから考えれば，憂鬱もshallow（浅はか・底が浅い）と繋がるような気がします。

この曲にフィーチャーされているMøは（本名はKaren Marie Ørsted）というデンマーク人ですが，声があのLana Del ReyやGrimes（http://oyogetaiyakukun.blogspot.jp/2013/04/oblivion-grimes.html）に似ています。特にWhole life changed while bones like yours and mineの部分はLanaが歌っているかと思えるほどです。

それはともかく，今気づいたのですが，女性シンガーで本名そのままという人は意外に少ないのかもしれません。Jessie Jといい，Siaといい，Lana Del Reyといい，特に私の好きなアーティストは何故か大半が芸名（stage name）です。

この曲以前に投稿しませんでしたか？覚えがあるような・・・。いやあれはShakiraとRihannaのCan't Remember To Forget Youでしたね。
それはともかく，Songactsによれば，Avicii はこの曲を「作曲家殿堂」入りしているMac Davisと共同制作したんだとか。また，ヴォーカルはオクラホマ出身のシンガー・ソングライターのAudra Maeです。彼女は同じアルバムのLong Road to Hellにも参加しているほか， The All-American RejectsのBeekeeper's Daughterにも参加しています。.

以前取り上げたZeddのClarityも確か同様に依存を歌った曲だったと記憶していますが，ただ恋愛というものは「恋の病」といわれるくらいですから，むしろ普通ではない状態（相手のことしか考えられない）がデフォルトなのかもしれません。

Hey Brother アヴィー・チー (Avicii)

確かに，AviciiのWake Me Upを最初に聞いた時には，フォークソングとEDM／ポップの組み合わせが意外にも悪くないことに多少驚きましたが，そこまで予想外だったわけでもありません。Mumford & Sonsの例もあります。
ただ，ブルーグラスとEDMの組み合わせまでは全く考えていませんでしたが，彼（Avicii）の場合は違ったようです。
ところで，この曲を歌っているDan Tyminskiは，2000年に公開された「オー・ブラザー（O Brother, Where Art Thou?）」という映画で http://cinema.intercritique.com/movie.cgi?mid=9339，その中に登場するThe Soggy Bottom Boysというブルー・グラス・バンドの吹き替えをしている人物ですが，Aviciiは6人のなかから彼を選んだそうです。
When I first heard Avicii's Wake Me Up, I admit I was bit surprised to find that a folk song blended in EDM /pop very well but not totally unexpected.  I knew Mumford &Sons.
On the other hand, merging bluegrass with EDM, however, was something that has never come to my mind but it actually did to his.

この曲の中には，the water's sweet but blood is thickerという箇所がありますが，この意味は「血縁関係にある人間のとの間には，家族でない人間との間にはない強い義務がある（People who are related have stronger obligations to each other than to people outside the family.）」という意味です。

また，Hey Brother, Hey Sisterと呼びかけてはいますが，必ずしも本当の（つまり生物学的・社会学的な）家族を表しているわけではなく，むしろwaterはさほど親しくない人，bloodは大変親しい人を表すメタファーなのではないかと思います。

Wake Me Up アヴィーチー (Avicii)

題名は"Wake Me Up!"（目覚めさせて）なのですが，実際には「もっと年を取るまではこのまま夢を見ていたいので，邪魔せず放っておいてくれ」で，この曲に登場するwake upという表現は，おそらく「大人になって平凡な人間として地道な生活を送る」ということのメタファーです。
ミュージック・ヴィデオの中の主人公２人は「目覚めて」自分たちが「大人」から嫌われていることを知り，自分たちの「居場所」を求めて，その場所を離れます。ヴィデオに登場する三つ編みの少女はおそらく「目覚めて（＝大人になって）」しまって「若さ（＝夢）」を捨ててしまった人々を表しているのでしょう。
While the title of the song says, "Wake Me Up!", it actually says, "Don't wake me up before I get older and just leave me alone."  In this song, the phrase "wake up" is probably a metaphor for growing up and living a low profile life as ordinary people.  In the video, the protagonists wake up and find themselves hated by "the grown-ups" and decide to leave where they're and head for where they belong, i.e. "a world of the young".  Probably another girl with braids in the video represents those who do wake up and stop being young.

* この表現「close one's eyes」は普通に考えれば「目をそむける」という意味ですが，一体何から目をそむけるのかが今一つはっきりしないような気がします。ただタイトルがwake me upなのでおそらくその逆の「あまり思い悩まず今のままの生活を続ける勇気」という意味でしょう。

実はこの曲，リード文ではあのように述べましたが，歌詞も第２連の最後の箇所「Well that's fine by me」までは全く逆の「そろそろ覚悟を決めて大人になる時期だ」という風に取れます。

ただ２連の最後で「だけどそれでも別に構わない（Well that's fine by me）」と言っていることに加え，サビで「だからなにもかも終わったら,大人になって賢くなったら，その時に夢から目覚めさせてよ（So wake me up when it's all over, When I'm wiser and I'm older）」と言っているため，おそらく言わんとするところはその逆であると思われます。

基本的に言ってることは，一方向の「（邦題）若いっていいな，イエーイ！」（原題 Live While We're Young）（*邦題は私が勝手につけました）と同じような気がしますが，一番近いのはMikky EkkoのKidsかもしれません。
