厳密に言えば「星屑」は我々の目には見えません。天体にはいくつか種類がありますが，光を放つのは恒星のみで，それ以外のものは恒星の光を反射しない限り見ることはできません。

無論ここで言う「星屑」は「あるべき２人の姿の成れの果て」という意味のメタファーですが，我々が「星屑（stardust）」と呼んでいる夜空の星も実際にはただ遠くにあるというだけで近づいてみれば下手をすると太陽などよりも遥かに明るい「星」である場合がほとんどです。

聞くところによると，この曲はジョン・レノン（John Lennon）のオーディションでポール・マッカートニー（Paul McCartney）が最初に演った曲であり，この曲でレノンに「お？」と思わせたのだとか。

それはともかく，以前高層階にある研究室に行く際，素直にエレベーターを使えばいいものを若気の至りで己の体力を過信し，階段を使ってヘロヘロになった経験のある私としてはこの主人公の気持ちが痛いほどよくわかります。

・・・２０階は辛過ぎていかにその子が好きでも早々に諦めそうです。

ここでいうヴィーナス（愛の女神）とは主人公が好きになった相手を表すメタファーではありません。主人公はヴィーナス本人に直接語り掛けています。

（余談）

冒頭から「Hey, Venus」です。仮にも女神様に語りかけるのにこのくだけた言い方はアリなんでしょうか？しかもこの主人公，こうして女神に縋っていることを考えれば大してモテている方ではないと思われるのですが，それにしては（まあだからこそなのかもしれませんが）なんだかやけに注文が多い。

仮に私がヴィーナス様ならこういう輩は徹底的に無視して間違いなく「ぼっち」の人生を送らせますね。

1986年に公開されたアメリカ映画「ブルー・ベルベット（Blue Velvet）」とこの曲のタイトルが同じだったため取り上げてみました。映画の主な出演者は，カイル・マクラクラン，イザベラ・ロッセリーニ，デニス・ホッパー，ローラ・ダーンです。

この曲を聞いた時は少し戸惑いました。曲のタイトルを知らなかったのは確実なのにメロディーは知っていて聞きながら次にどの音が来るのか予想できたからです。
When I heard this song, I was puzzled a bit.  I've never heard of the song title but I knew the melody and the notes which come next.

お聞きになればおわかりかと思いますがこの曲はアレクサンドル・ボロディン（Alexander Borodin）の「韃靼（だったん）人の踊り（Gliding Dance of the Maidens）」に歌詞を乗せています。

メロディーに馴染みがあるのも納得です。

無邪気なラヴ・ソングだと思って聞いていたものの歌詞の最後で裏切られました。とにかくツッコミどころが多すぎます。

果たして「テント」が「住居」に該当するのかどうかは不明ですが，日常的にそこに住んでいるなら「住居」として認められる可能性も決して低くはなさそうなのでこの主人公は「住居侵入罪」そして場合によっては「準強制性交等罪」に問われる可能性が出てきます。

Hymne à l’amour エディット・ピアフ (Édith Piaf/Celine Dion)

パリ五輪の開会式を見てセリーヌ・ディオン（Celine Dion）がこの曲を歌うのを聞いていたら，気が付くと訳も分からず泣いていました。
I watched the opening ceremony of Paris 2024 Olympic games and heard Celine Dion sing this song.  Listening to it, I found myself crying but didn't know why.

Domino トニー・マーティン (Tony Martin)

これは相手の名前なのでしょうか？ドミノ（Domino）というのは元々ラテン語で「主人」という意味の男の子の名前ですが，仮にTony Martinが主人公だとすると，1950年代にはちょっとした論争を巻き起こしたかもしれません。
Is it the second person's name?  Domino is a boy's name originated from Latin meaning 'Lord' and 'Master'.  So if it is, the second person is a male.  If the singer Tony Martin represents the narrator, this song may sound a bit controversial in 1950s.

そうです，見間違いではありません。タイトルは「」であって「」ではありません。ガーシュイン兄弟（the Gershwin brothers）とDeBose Heywardによるアメリカのオペラ作品「ポーギーとベス」に出てくる曲で，黒人の多く住む貧しい海辺の街が舞台です。
Yes, you see it right.  The title is 'I LoveS You Porgy' not 'I Love You Porgy'.  The song is a track from an American opera Porgy and Bess written by the Gershwin brothers and DuBose Heyward.  It takes place in a poor seaside town mainly inhabited by black population.

歌詞に登場する「ランドルフ（Randolph）」は一体誰なんでしょうか？聞くところによると「ルドルフ（Rudolph）」は赤鼻のトナカイですが，ランドルフの鼻は茶色だそうです。
