最近「モチベーション」という言葉はよく耳にするので，常にモチベーションを上げていることが絶対必要であるように思えるのですが本当でしょうか？いやそもそもそんなことが可能なんでしょうか？違うと思いますね。人間というのは退屈するものでありそれが自然です。ご心配なく。そうする理由がわかっていればやる気になります。

この曲には出会ったのは数年ほど前。合唱団指揮者のGareth Maloneが，イギリス最大の男子校で合唱団を組織し，ロンドンの Royal Albert Hallで歌わせるという企画があり，そのBoys Don't Sing Revisitedという番組を通してこの曲を知りました。

最終的には「なあ，お前は無駄にイケてるから」となったわけですが，敢えて「無駄に」という表現にしたのは，You're way too beautiful, girlのway tooで比べている対象が，主人公の恋人として必要とされる「美しさ」のはるか上をいっていると思われるためです。いわば「そこまでの美しさは求めてへん」的な感じでしょうか。

ただ，ミダス王の曲とは違い，歌詞の内容は「ボヤキ」ではありません。確かMetrolyricsで「過ぎゆく夏を惜しむ曲」として紹介されていたと思いますが，全体的に前向きな内容だと思います。
ところでこのバンドSOJAは略称で，Solidiers Of Jah Army（無理やり訳すとすれば「エホバ軍の戦士」でしょうか）らしい。発音がわからなかったのでWikipediaで発音を確認しようと，英語でsoja wikipediaとして検索をかけたのですが，ヒットしたページには発音の記載はなし。がっかりして別のサイトで調べようと，ふとページ上部に目をやると・・・soja okayamaの文字が。
この曲はMetrolyricsのトップ100に1か月以上入っていますが，今まで取り上げる気になりませんでした。Rudeというタイトルからなんとなくイヤなものを感じて興味が持てなかったからですが，実際の内容は予想したようなものではなく，ある男性が他の男性に娘との結婚を許してくれるよう頼むと言う明るい曲でした。こういう状況というのはさほど珍しいことではないのでしょうが，ただ一体父親はこれほど頑なで主人公が気に入らないのかが気になります。
This song has stayed on the top 100 lyrics of Metrolyrics for more than a month but I didn't feel like picking it up for my blog before. The song title turned me off because I felt something negative from it. The song's , however, not about what I had expected from the title. It turned out to be an upbeat song in which a guy is asking another guy a permission to marry his daughter. ここ本館を始めてからの21箇月で初めて取り上げるレゲエの曲です。この曲については「おそらくSnoop Doggのレゲエアルバムのコラボの中で一番予想外だったもの」だと言われていますが，確かにその通りだと思います。曲の主題は「諸行無常」だとか。
歌詞の中では「永遠に君を愛する」だの「2人の愛はこの世の終わりまで変わらない」だのという表現をよく目にします。確かにロマンティックですが，個人的には信じていません。この世で変わらぬものなどありませんし，いつまでもあるものもありません。なにもかもが諸行無常ですが，だからといってそれは悲しいことではありません。人生とはそういうものですから。
