この曲はちょっと聴くと失恋しかけた男の嘆きのように思えます。実際私もそう思っていましたし和訳もそうしていますが、別の全く違う解釈も可能です。しかもそちらの方が筋が通ってます。すなわちこの歌詞の主人公は悪魔で、地上の迷える魂を自分の手元に引き戻そうとしているという解釈です。ヴィデオもこの解釈に基づいています。いかがでしょうか？

According to Wikipedia, they came up the name Avenged Sevenfold as a reference to the story of Cain and Abel from the Bible. Despite its name Avenged Sevenfold is not necessarily a religeous band. This is my theory that they named their band as such when they were much younger and unheard. This is often the the case with many heavy metal bands. I wonder if they think they should have known better.
At a glance, this song sounds like a repent or regret of a man losing his love. That was exactly what I heard and I translated the lyrics accordingly. However, another interpretation is possible and sounds far more reasonable. The narrator of the song is Devil who is trying to entice lost souls on the earth into his realm again. The music video endorses it. What do you think?
