私の解釈はこうです：theyはアメリカ軍の戦没者であり、someone's little girlとはその戦争で亡くなった一般人あるいはアメリカ軍以外の戦没者。歌詞のsheとyouは同一人物なのか悩むところですが、ヴィデオのなかではyouは主人公の戦友、sheはその妻という設定になっています。今まで耳にした曲の中で最も悲しく感動的な曲です。
Every time I listen to his song, especially his earlier ones, I can't help feeling that most of his songs are embroidered with death and sorrow. It may be partly because he served as a British Army officer in late '90. The part "And they were all born pretty in New York City tonight, And someone's little girl was taken from the world tonight, Under the Stars and Stripes." is rather open. Who are they? Who is someone's little girl?
Here is my take: "they" are the US fallen soldiers and "someone's little girl"is a war casualty or a non-American fallen soldier. Moreover is "she" and "you" the same person? In the video, "she" in the lyrics appears to be wife of "you", a dead soldier.This is one of the saddest songs I've ever heard but still so compelling.

この曲はJB の曲の中で最も好きな曲の1つです。your beautiful は衝撃的でした。そして救われました。こんな使い方はいけないのではと思いましたが、すごーく気持ちが落ち込んでいた時期に、衝撃的映像を見て、この人今、生きてるの？と慌ててネットを探しました。そして、私のダークな部分をこの映像で消し去る、つまり私の代わりに死んでもらおうと思いました。背筋がゾクッとする話ですが、お陰様で、私は正気の戻りました。この2，3年はなくなりましたが、嫌なことがあると、お願いしますとyour beautiful に助けてもらっていました。自虐タイプの人だし、英国人（友人）によくいるきっついジョークを言う人だなあと思っいましたが、正直で不器用な人なのかとも思いました。新しい曲は作らないの？などと下手なメールをした海外のアーティストもJBが初めてです。カーボーイの曲を出した2年前ぐらいからのファンです。対訳さんともその頃からお世話になってます！有難うございます。これからもよろしくお願いいたします。

7years を歌ってほしいなぁと今思ってます。デビュー7周年で、今なんですよねー！
