この曲の主人公のように，我々が人生を旅にたとえることは少なくありません。共通点があるからです。どちらにも「目的地」というものがあり，大抵の場合「荷物」も抱えています。「連れ」がいることもあります。
Like the narrator in this song, we often compare our lives to a journey or a travel.  They have a lot in common.  Both have the destination.  we often carry baggage all along and have a company sometimes.

（余談）

リードで述べたように共通点の非常に多い「旅」と「人生」ですが，唯一違う点があります。「旅」と違い「人生」にやり直しはありません。過去に滞在した場所が気に入ったからといって，そこへまた戻ることはできないのが」人生」でしょう。したがって，主人公には気の毒ですが，「初めて出会ったあの夜に，もう一度戻」ることはできないと思われます。
