Dancing エリーザ(Elisa)

「求めよ。されば与えられん」（マタイ７：７）。キリスト教徒ではありませんが，この言葉はある意味正しいと思います。この「要求し続ける」という行為は，一見すると誰でもすぐ出来ることのように思えますが，実際は違います。無理かもしれないと思いつつ，それでも要求し続けるというのは容易なことではありません。断られたり拒絶されたりという経験をすると，自分がつまらない存在に思えてくるからです。子どもの頃は誰しもしていたと思いますが，やがて諦めて止めてしまいます。無駄だとわかっているからです。しかし世の中には「粘り勝ち」という言葉もあります。
Set Fire To The Rain (Adele) のコメント欄にあるこの曲のタイトルのせいで，時折このサイトに迷い込んでおいでになる方があります。以前にもこういうことがありました。その投稿がないとわかって，さぞやがっかりなさっただろうと思います。別に私の責任ではないので申し訳なく感じる必要はないのですが，それでもなんとなく罪悪感を拭いきれず，ここで取り上げることにいたしました。ほら「粘り勝ち」でしょう？
"Ask and it shall be given to you." (Matthew 7:7).  I'm not a Christian but I believe it holds some truth.  It sounds pretty easy at first glance, but actually it's not.  Keep asking something even not knowing it'll be answered is not easy at all.  Being denied or rejected is a pretty hard feeling.  That sometimes makes you feel worthless.  We actually do when we are very young but soon we give up and stop doing it because we know most cases it's worthless.  Sometimes "persistence prevails when all else fails."
Every now and then, a reference to the song in a comment on my blog post of Set Fire To The Rain (Adele) brings some people here. This is not new to me. I experienced it before. They must have been disappointed, finding no such a post existed here. I feel very sorry for them. I know it's not my fault and I'm not the one to blame but still I feel a bit guilty.  So I decided to do what I should do.  See?  Persistence prevails.

（余談）

先日のDark Blue (Jack's Mannequin)といい，今回のこれといい，どうも遠距離恋愛というのは，洋の東西を問わず難しそうです。ということは，逆に言うと近くにいれば勝機も出てくるということなんでしょうか。確かに巷に流れる噂では，結婚相手の大半は，職場などで半径５メートル以内の場所にいる人間らしい。・・・深い。
