This won the award for Best Traditional R&B Performance at the 2013 Grammy Awards. The song has been staying on Metrolyrics Top 100 lyrics list for a long time, probably more than a year.
The song was penned by The-Dream whose previous contributions for Beyoncé include her "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)" which I posted before. I can recognize something in common between them.

I'm smiling out from ear to earの箇所ですが，直訳すれば「耳から耳まで笑っている（＝唇の両端がそれぞれの耳の位置にくるくらいの満面の笑みをたたえている）」ということです。
したがって，大変幸せなイメージが浮かんで然るべきなのですが，この箇所を読んで，ついNightmare Before ChristmasのJackとSally，チェシャ猫，故Heath Ledgerが演じたBadmanのJokerを思い出してしまったのは私だけでしょうか？
