日常生活ではともすれば「相手がこう考えていたらこうしなければ」「周りがこうなら自分はこう対応せねば」と考えてしまいがちですが，実際には自分がどういう行動に出ようと起こることは最終的に起こってしまいます。
例えば，相手に嫌われるのではないかと考えて，言いたいことも言えずガマンしていたとしても，相手が必ずしも自分によくしてくれるとは限らず，最終的に相手から嫌われてしまうことも十分あり得ます。
だとすれば，自分がどのように行動しようと，その結果を完全にはコントロールできないのだと考えて，自分の思う通りに行動した方が，仮に失敗したとしても悔いが残らない分，結局は「お得」なのではないでしょうか？
